On January 31, 2013, the Bradenton Herald reported that Anna Maria Island has avoided litigation for the meantime by reversing the enforcement of short-term rental violations, but the problem is not solved. Scott Rudacille, who represents property owners in Anna Maria, said he was prepared to file suit against the City before the reversal. Mr. Rudacille challenged the commission referring to a lawsuit filed against the city of Venice that cost the city millions in litigation fees.
“That’s a major property right issue when you talk about limiting people’s rights to rent their property,” Rudacille said. – Bradenton Herald.
