Blalock Walters is proud to sponsor Tidewell Hospice’s 9th Annual Signature Luncheon on February 9, 2018 at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, Florida.
This year’s keynote speaker is Will Reeve, Ambassador and Board Member of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation,
Director of the Reeve Foundation Champions Committee and ESPN broadcaster. Since August 2014 when Reeve joined ESPN, he has been a contributor to SportsCenter and E:60, bringing his youthful perspective to stories in order to appeal to a younger sports fan while resonatingwith all ESPN viewers. Across multiple platforms, he focuses on highlighting the humanity in sports with his dynamic personality and passion for storytelling.
Reeve’s journey early in life shaped the man he is today. He will share his personal story of witnessing his mother serve as a caregiver to his father after he became paralyzed when Will was just 3 and how his strong support system of family, friends and grief counseling helped him after losing his father and
mother within 16 months of one another, leaving him an orphan at 13. Reeve now works to improve the quality of life for those suffering from spinal cord injuries and to offer support, resources and information to help caregivers navigate life with a loved one suffering paralysis.
His message at the Signature Luncheon will provide a unique insight into building and thriving within a solid support system.
Proceeds from the event benefit the more than 8,000 patients and families who receive compassionate care through Tidewell each year, regardless of their ability to pay. For more information or to buy tickets, contact Aida Matic at (941) 552-7660 or click here.
