The Jody Freidman Golf Classic to be held on May 23, 2013 at the Bradenton Country Club benefits the Jody Friedman Memorial Scholarship Fund. Jody was a student athlete at Manatee High School, Manatee Community College and the University of Georgia. Tragically, Jody died on Memorial Day 2006, at the age of 28, leaving his family and friends to deal with his loss. A memorial fund was set up in his honor, with scholarships to be awarded to Manatee County baseball players wishing to continue their education.
