Bradenton-Sarasota, FL (November 13, 2013) – The law firm of Blalock Walters, P.A. is pleased to welcome litigation attorney Amanda C. Smith to the firm. Smith is an associate in the firm’s Business Litigation Services group where she assists with pre-trial motions, discovery and business litigation matters. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, J.D. 2013, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, where she was Notes & Comments Editor of The Florida Law Review and received six Book Awards. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Florida, cum laude, as Valedictorian and Phi Beta Kappa in 2010.
Due to her extraordinary academic accomplishments, Smith was recently honored by Chief Judge Charles A. Davis, Jr., Florida Second District Court of Appeals, to deliver the “Remarks on Behalf of New Lawyers” at the 2013 Induction Ceremony for Admission to The Florida Bar. She finished in the top one percent on The Florida Bar examination.

Smith is on the board of directors of the Young Lawyers Division of the Manatee County Bar Association; the Education Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the Sarasota County Bar Association; a member of Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance; a member of Manatee Young Professionals; and a member of the Manatee Chapter of Florida Association for Women Lawyers. She is a certified County Civil Mediator, Florida Supreme Court.
