Cliff Walters was recognized at the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon on November 18, 2014, in Sarasota, Florida.  The event, moderated by the prominent Bob Carter of Bob Carter Companies, celebrated the philanthropic spirit of the Suncoast.  Walters was nominated as the “2014 Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer” by The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art.

Cliff joined The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in 2008, already a pillar of leadership and philanthropy in the community.  We are thrilled and grateful for the mentorship and consistent support Cliff provides to the Board and staff. Cliff demonstrates the most effective leadership qualities one can hope for in a volunteer; calm, deliberate, and inclusive. He has steadily worked to make every voice heard at the Museum and to steer the organization to consensus on major issues facing the institution.

Walters offers his personal and professional expertise to community organizations, encourages volunteerism and philanthropy, and has made a significant impact on both Manatee and Sarasota Counties.  Walters is a long-standing contributor to the professional community and important charitable causes.  Walters has either served on the Board or been a key figure in raising funds, starting endowments and working with clients to support numerous local organizations including: The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art Foundation, Goodwill Industries Manasota, Manatee Chamber of Commerce, Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation, Boys and Girls Club of Manatee Foundation, University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, and United Way of Manatee.
