Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida (July 28, 2014) – Attorney Marisa J. Powers of Blalock Walters, P.A. has been elected Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (www.fawl.org), Manatee County Chapter for 2014-2015. Marisa is former Treasurer of the association. Blalock Walters’ attorney Ann K. Breitinger, also a former Treasurer of FAWL, and has been re-elected to the board.
Based in Tallahassee, 2011 marked the 60th Anniversary of FAWL, a professional organization that supports women lawyers in leadership as well as provides networking and enhanced continuing legal education programs.
Marisa Powers is an associate attorney in the firm’s Litigation and Labor & Employment Services areas. Her practice involves the litigation of business disputes; probate, estate and trust disputes; employment law; and construction law related matters. She is on the Board of Pace Center for Girls and a Barrister of Manatee American Inn of Court.
Ann Breitinger counsels clients regarding entity formation, business governance issues, business transactions and health care transactional and regulatory matters. She is on the Board of Directors of the Manatee County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and We Care Manatee, Inc., as well as a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
Both are on the Leadership Committee of Manatee Young Professionals.
