Attorney Anne Chapman Earns Board Certification in Labor and Employment Law
Expanding the Total to Seven Florida Bar Board Certified Attorneys at Blalock Walters

Bradenton-Sarasota, Fla. (October 17, 2023) – The law firm of Blalock Walters, P.A. is pleased to announce that Anne Willis Chapman, a principal with the Firm, has become certified as an expert in Labor and Employment Law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. This distinction is conferred upon less than two hundred lawyers in Florida.

Certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in the areas of law approved for certification. Board certified lawyers are the only lawyers in Florida allowed to refer to themselves as “specialists” or “experts” or to use the letters “B.C.S.” to indicate Board Certified Specialist when referring to their legal credentials. Only seven percent of eligible Florida lawyers are Board certified in one or more of 27 certification areas. Board certification requires a lawyer to show substantial involvement in the area of certification, pass a rigorous examination and complete a thorough peer review process.

Chapman is a principal in the firm’s Labor & Employment and Business Litigation practice areas. Her practice focuses on representing clients in a wide range of employment law issues including defending public and private sector employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wage-hour litigation in state and federal court and before administrative agencies. Her practice also involves providing companies with advice and counsel concerning day-to-day employee relations issues, employment agreements and legal compliance. She received her J.D. at the University of Miami College of Law, magna cum laude.
