Legal Battles Continue –
A federal appellate court in Richmond, Va., on Thursday threw out a pair of cases challenging the constitutionality of President Obama’s 2010 health care law. Two of the three judges on the panel volunteered that they would have upheld the health care reform if they had been able to rule on the substance of the case. Recent rulings are all over the place, so the U.S. Supreme Court will most likely get the case, possibly before the 2012 elections.
What is the status of my new book – “The New Health Age: The Future of Health Care in America”?
My co-author David Houle and I went live with our website www.thenewhealthage.com. We continue to receive very positive feedback from the pre-public draft edition. Final edits are due to the publisher this week!! I was recognized this week by BIZ941 magazine as one of 20 “People to Watch” in Bradenton and Sarasota Florida. As a health care attorney and advisor, I am so honored to be part of this great book project.
Fraud and Abuse Enforcement
The White House said last week that the incremental Medicare and Medicaid reforms enacted this year along with other programs to tackle waste, fraud and abuse will save $62.2 billion through 2021. More enforcement on the way!
More to come. Be well.
